Michael Pitt MBBS (Qld)
Dr Michael Pitt established Birkdale Medical in 1984 in a semi-rural Birkdale very different from today. He has interests in children’s health, men’s health, musculoskeletal and skin conditions and motor racing medicine. He is also actively involved in teaching and guiding young doctors who are in the process of becoming family medicine specialists. He is a keen sailor and competes in Laser Masters sailing events.

Dr Barbara Jones commenced practising at Birkdale Medical in 1999. She specialises in women’s health, depression and anxiety and travel medicine.

Jack Wang MD (Qld)
Dr Jack Wang is a GP registrar who graduated from the University of Queensland in 2022. He has worked at The Prince Charles and Logan Hospitals across geriatrics, paediatrics, general medicine, emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, and general surgery. Jack enjoys all areas of general practice, with particular interests in mens health, paediatrics and geriatrics. Outside of medicine, Jack enjoys gardening and attempting to play the bass.

Joseph Beaton MD (Qld)
Dr Joseph Beaton has just started the GP training program after spending 3 years in the hospital system gathering extensive skills in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Palliative Care, Anaesthesia, Paediatrics, Emergency Medicine, and Obstetrics.
Joseph's focus is on all aspects of General Practice, with a strong emphasis on understanding his patients, what matters most to them, and working together to overcome barriers to their physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.

Emily McGhie MBBS (Qld) FRACGP
Dr Emily McGhie graduated in 2004 from the University of QLD and completed her RACGP fellowship in 2010. She is an associate member of the Australasian College of Sports and Exercise Physicians and has an interest in musculoskeletal and sports medicine as well as Diabetes and Chronic Disease Management. She has 2 children and enjoys working with families and in Women’s health.
Her personal interests involve both road and mountain bike riding and racing. She also enjoys helping people increase their physical activity levels to improve both physical and mental health.

Kerry Hulett MBBS FRACGP
Dr Kerry Hulett grew up in the local area and returned to live here with her own family after completing her university degrees. As a mother to a child with type 1 diabetes Kerry has a particular interest in type 1 diabetes management and is well versed in the newer technology used in its management. She also enjoys women's and children's health and parenting as well as managing mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety. In her spare time Kerry is an avid modern quilter and enjoys running.

Kara Griffiths MBBS (Qld) FRACGP
Dr Kara Griffiths graduated in 2007 from the University of QLD and completed her RACGP fellowship in 2011. She also completed a Diploma of Child Health in 2011. Kara has young children of her own. She enjoys travelling and has visited Africa and Asia and spent a medical elective in Ecuador, South America. Kara has a special interest in women and children’s health and general medicine.

Sally Crane MBBS FRACGP
Dr Sally Crane graduated in 2006 from the University of Queensland and completed her RACGP fellowship in 2014. She also completed a National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health in 2018.
Sally enjoys all areas of General Practice but has a special interest in women's and children's health, family planning and sexual health. Sally is certified to insert IUD's (eg Mirena) and Implanon.
Outside of work, Sally is a mum to two young children and enjoys long-distance running and competing in marathon and half marathon events.

Claire Connole MBBS FRACGP
Dr Claire Connole graduated in 2011 from Griffith University and has recently completed her RACGP Fellowship. Prior to studying medicine, Claire worked as an Occupational Therapist. She has also completed her Diploma of Child Health and has spent time working at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital. Claire enjoys all aspects of general practice but particularly enjoys women and children's health as well as preventative medicine.
Russell Stevens MBBS FRACGP
Dr Russell Stevens graduated from the University of Queensland in 2000. He spent several years at the Princess Alexandra Hospital rotating through all of the Medical Specialties. In more recent years Russell has worked in the Coronary Care Unit at the Greenslopes Hospital where he continues to work one day each week. Areas of medical interest include Cardiac and Respiratory Medicine, and Musculoskeletal issues. Interests beyond medicine include photography, music, and cinema.

Stephanie Buckby MBBS FRACGP
Dr Stephanie Buckby graduated from James Cook University in 2011 and completed her fellowship in the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2018.
Stephanie's interests include skin cancer medicine, travel medicine and women’s health.
Stephanie has a warm and friendly rapport with her patients and applies a very thoughtful and thorough approach to patient care.

Annika Blackie BSc MD FRACGP
Dr Annika Blackie completed her medical degree at UQ in 2019 and has since worked across Brisbane and Toowoomba hospitals.
Annika enjoys all areas of general practice but is particularly interested in women’s health and reproductive care, including pregnancy & peri/menopause. She is certified to perform insertion of IUD (Mirena) & Implanon and provides iron infusions and venesection. When not at the clinic, Annika is also a Reformer pilates instructor.
